Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9 Day 1 Highlights | Owners vs Tenants Twist, Mask Man Drama & More

A fresh twist—contestants were split into "Owners" (commoners) and "Tenants" (celebrities) right from the start. The commoners moved into the luxurious main house, while the celebrities were relegated to a more minimalist secondary house. The Times of India+2The Times of India+2
The dynamic created immediate tension and rivalry, setting the stage for power plays.

The premiere kicked off with high-voltage energy, including dance performances and grand entrances.
Host Nagarjuna, in a sleek all-black look, lit up the stage with charisma and a nostalgic performance including his iconic song “Soniya Soniya.”The Times of India+2The Times of India+2

The "In-House vs Out-House" task launched immediately, dividing participants into groups for team challenges.
During this session, Immanuel (Jabardasth Emmanuel) lightened the mood with a witty one-liner:

“I was waiting for this announcement since last night. I was sweating when I slept for the first time.”MENAFN
"Mask Man", an assertive contestant, stirred drama by insisting that idle housemates pitch in with chores. When Maryada Manish questioned his direction, Mask Man snapped back, “Manish, you didn’t get the badge. Don’t talk!” escalating tensions.MENAFN

Harish (Haritha Harish) emerged as a standout early on, delivering emotionally charged remarks that caught Bigg Boss's attention.
A heated moment involved body-shaming remarks—Harish called Immanuel "gundu uncle," triggering a brief but tense exchange which eventually cooled down.Samayam Telugu

Subtle sparks were seen in the interplay between Rithu Chowdary and Pawan Kalyan (Kalyan Padala). Rithu’s playful looks and gestures toward Pawan showed the first hints of potential relationships forming in the house.
Her expressive “looks” earned on-screen commentary joking about her appearing to “flirt”—and whether that's really what was happening or just attention-seeking remains to be seen.Samayam Telugu
